Off-Campus:  Thursday: The Great Dumbo Drop, 5-8 pm. This block party on Washington Street in Dumbo, it claims is Brooklyn’s most-photographed block, it will feature thousands of toy elephants parachuting from the rooftops onto the street. You can sponsor and elephant for $20, and if your pachyderm lands closest to a target, you win a $500 shopping spree. All proceeds go to Dumbo’s public schools. With musical performances starting at 5 pm from drumline FogoAzul and Michael & the Rockness Monsters.  Washington Street between Front and Plymouth Streets.

Also in DUMBO. Gaijin à Go-Go, 6 pm. The Japanese pop band plays the Live at The Archway Under the Manhattan Bridge Series. Water Street between Adams Street and Anchorage Place. Art History Happy Hour, 7 pm, $25 (includes one drink). Celebrate the Brooklyn Museum’s new exhibit of animal mummies with an evening of wine, beer, and lighthearted art history lectures. 200 Eastern Pkwy. at Washington Avenue. Probably with museum admission. The 2017 Miss Subways Extravaganza, 7 pm, $20-$60. In a night of classy, trashy, and weird performances, contestants will demonstrate their love, frustration, and ultimate devotion to their subway line of choice. City Reliquary, 370 Metropolitan Ave. between Havemeyer Street and Marcy Avenue. BackFat Variety’s All-Woman Show, 8 pm, 21+, $5 suggested donation. Comedians Aparna Nancherla, Ophira Eisenberg, Amy Zimmer, and Eminem cover band Feminem. 61 Local at 61 Bergen St. between Smith and Court Streets.

Friday:  Drink and DrawBots, 7:30 pm, all ages, 21+ for alcohol, $20 suggested donation. Drink and creating machines that draw and paint for you. Open Source Gallery, 306 17th St. at Sixth Avenue.
