Journey to the Stars, 8:30 pm. Gaze across the New York sky and all the wonders it holds with Amateur Astronomers Association of New York. On Thursday nights in July and August hi-powered telescopes for stargazing sessions. Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier One, Old Fulton Street at Furman Street.

Friday, Aug. 4:  Migrants at Midnight, $15, in this new ballet from the ChoreoJoey Project, a cast of 12 delves into sights and sounds of a 1990s New York, with jazz and Caribbean dance. The Hive NYC, 20 Cook St. between Manhattan and Puerto Rico Avenues. Friday and Saturday, 7 pm, Sunday, 3:30 pm.

Creed with live score, 7:30 pm, Brooklyn collective Wordless Music Orchestra provides the live score for “Creed,” a story of underdogs and redemption. Part of the annual outdoor Celebrate Brooklyn! festival. Prospect Park Band Shell, Prospect Park West and Ninth Street.
Coney Island Fireworks, 9:30 pm to 10 pm until Friday, Sept. 1. For the best view, locate yourself on the boardwalk or beach between West 10th Street and West 15th Street.
