One-Act Festival Review

One-Act Festival
By Rebecca Genève (BMCC student)

On Monday, May 15, 2017 at night I had the opportunity to see my dear friend Cassandra Borgella perform in Brooklyn’s College’s “One-Act Festival”. Cassandra graduated with a BFA in Theatre and did an excellent job in playing her character as a pregnant and concerned woman.
In the total performance, only one musician was present and the music was played with a cello. One of the numbers might have been from Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Prelude”. When the instrument was played, I felt slightly sad. It was a sad song being played and it worked well with the tone of the scene. The performance was done in the Thrust Theatre in Roosevelt Hal. It was 95% full. A majority of students made up the audience. The actors also used the space in between sections in the audience to perform their acts. The lighting was perfect in certain scenes, but could have been adjusted more effectively in other scenes.
