Thursday and Friday events at Brooklyn College and beyond

I have a Letter to the Editor in the Excelsior Newspaper now, check under Miscellaneous.

All events are in Brooklyn unless noted and most are free. Most Brooklyn College events are in the Student Center (SUBO) unless noted. Almost all club events are open to all BC students in their area such as CLAS, SGS, GSO as designated on their ID. For example, an ethnic named club or club with associated with a major anyone can attend. Many are bars so check if under age. Many off campus events are bars so check if under age. If you can’t drink you might be able to eat there.

Thursday, May 18: FIRST YEAR THURSDAY: Prepping for Finals, 12:30-2 pm, Quad. End of Year Celebration, Parents and Friends of the Early Childhood Center, 3-7 pm, Bedford Lounge (2nd floor), music, games, giveaways. Leadership Disability Awards Dinner, 6-9 pm, Penthouse (7th floor), Student Organization For Every Disability United For Progress, (S.O.F.E.D.U.P.). 2-4:30 pm, meet Security Departments Peace Officer, staff and students, 130 C Ingersol.If the room is off check with (718) 951-5511. Mentorship Dinner, 7-9 pm, Occidental Lounge (5th floor), Women in Computer Science, sounds private. CSU Flag Fete,6-10 pm, basement, you had to be on the mailing list and RSVP. Radio Awards, 8 pm, Jefferson Room. Cost of Freedom, 5-8 pm, International Room. GTO Awards, 4-9 pm, Amersford Room. Anthropology Club Senior Presentations and Send Off, 3:30-7:30 pm, State Room.

Off-Campus: Kings Theatre Happy Hour Tour, 6:30 pm, $25. One glass of wine included with the ticket. Kings Theatre, 1027 Flatbush Ave. between Beverly Road and Tilden Avenue. Solar Panel Information Session, 6:30–8:30 pm, Urban Future Lab, 15 MetroTech at Bridge Street.

Off-Campus: Bike Home From Work, 6-10 pm, Party,Transportation Alternatives and Citibike host a beer garden with food trucks, a DJ, and cycling accessories. Pearl Street Triangle, Water Street between Pearl Street and Anchorage Place, Manhattan. Camouflage Comedy Show, free comedy and free pizza, 8:30 pm, with DC Benny, Josh Johnson, Adrienne Iapalucci, Sarah Tollemache, and more. Big Irv’s, 381 Hooper St. at S. First Street, 21+, must RSVP using eventbrite to attend.
