Saturday, Oct. 29: Black Violin at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College, 8 pm, $25, http://www.brooklyncenter.orgMaduixa Theatre: Direct from Spain! with dance, theatre, music, new technologies, full of colors, 2 pm, $12, On Stage at Kingsborough (College). Walk to End Alzheimer’s, cross the Brooklyn Bridge and raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association, 10 am, Cadman Plaza Park, 172 Cadman Plaza East between Middagh and Clark Streets http://alz.org/nyc.

Halloween Events: Spooky Bits, 6:30 pm, $5-$8, 6:30pm @ Littlefield, 622 Degraw St. Halloween-themed comedy showcase; self-proclaimed “Holiday Comedian” Jo Firestone headlines, SNL guest writer and “Space Prince” Julio Torres; the bizarre Three Busy Debras; and more. Arrive early in your most creative getup for the costume contest. You may or may not be heckled. Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade and Costume Contest, 10 am, free entertainment, giveaways and trick-or-treating. Open to all children under 15. Registration begins at 10am with the costume contest taking place at 12pm, music, entertaintment, on-site food options and more. First 1,500 registered participants receive a 2 hour Luna Park unlimited ride wristband and a goodie bag. Costumes are encouraged, BRIC Arts Media House, 647 Fulton St. at Rockwell Place.  Great PUPKin Dog Costume Contest, 11:30 am, $10 suggested donation for entry. Usually more than 100 pooches and 1,000 watchers, Fort Greene Park Monument stairs, Washington Park at Myrtle Avenue. Ghouls & Gourds, 12-5:30 pm, $15, free for children 12 and younger. Shake a tail feather to tunes, and show off your costumes, try your hand in the vegetable midway games, explore the pretend petting zoo, craft your own freaky feelers, and build a giant spider web-all under a canopy of gorgeous fall colors in the Garden,  Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1000 Washington Ave., at Eastern Parkway.

Saturday and Sunday: Halloween Events in the parks https://www.nycgovparks.org/events/halloween. Boo at the Zoo (probably in all zoos and the aquarium), 11 am-4 pm, free with zoo admission. It’s time to take out those costumes, come to the zoo, give Halloween treats to the animals and have a ghoulishly good time with crafts, face painting and more, Prospect Park Zoo, 450 Flatbush Ave. at Ocean Avenue.

Sunday, Oct. 30: Street Fair, 11 am-5 pm, plenty of vendors, merchants, food, rides, games and pet adoption from Heavenly Angels mobile pet adoption, and the Fire Department Safety team with handy tips. Court Street, Atlantic Avenue and Joralemon Street, Brooklyn HeightsHistorical Halloween Ball 4 pm-6 pm, $12 ($10 members) for children of all ages, learn your fortune, take a photo with a spirit, hear history’s scariest stories, taste historical candy, and more. Vote online in our Lincoln and Douglass statue costume contest. After 4 pm on the day of the event, only Halloween Ball ticket holders will be admitted to the Museum. Halloween Ball attendees who wish to view the entire museum before the event will be charged an extra $4 per adult visitor, New-York Historical Society DiMenna Children’s History Museum, 170 Central Park West at West 77th Street, Manhattan. Devil’s Night Cover Band Fear Fest, 6 pm, $5, bands, Featuring Safety as the Smashing Pumpkins, Harborland as Brand New, Chiv Culture w/ as A Tribe Called Quest/Kendrick Lamar, Mad Diesel as Alkaline Quattro Stringer as Operation Ivy, Fat Heaven as Rancid, and Velvet Zombie as Judee Sill, Brooklyn Bazaar, 150 Greenpoint Ave. between Manhattan Avenue and Franklin Street, http://www.bkbazaar.com.
