Friday events you don’t want to miss

All events are in Brooklyn unless noted and most are free. Friday, Aug. 26: Doctors Prescribing Bikes is back-to-school event with clinicians offering health screenings and prescribing a bicycle, as appropriate. Back to school supplies available while they last, 9:30 am-3 pm at Bishop Walker Healthcare Center, 528 Prospect Pl. between Franklin and Classon Avenues, (718) 613–6835. Overfitting Opening Reception, viewers are invited to see, touch, and perform with the artworks, which incorporate trendy technologies, 7-10 pm at Ouchi Gallery, 170 Tillary St. at Gold Street. FIVE/5ths Art Show, Opening Reception is an audiovisual exhibition of black contemporary art, 6:30–9:30 pm at Arts East New York, 534 Livonia Ave. between Williams and Alabama Avenues. Breezy Grass, 8 pm, $10 is a high-energy mix of bluegrass, country and Americana at Aviator Sports and Events Center, 3159 Flatbush Ave. in Floyd Bennett Field. Isabahlia Ladies of Elegance Foundation Farmers’ Market, peruse and purchase healthy food and products from local producers, noon-5 pm until Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Rockaway Avenue and Sutter Avenue. Lincoln Center Local (in Queens): Silent Disco, 5-10 pm, DJs broadcast disco and dance hits directly to your headphones. Bring your best moves, they will provide the rest (including headphones), 5-6:30 pm – Silent Family Dance, 7- 7:30 pm, Silent Dance Lesson, 7:30-10 pm – Silent Dance Party. Admission is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring a credit card or an ID to borrow headphones for the evening. Please leave your baggage at home; bags are not permitted on the dance floor at Hunter’s Point South Park, Queens. Friday Night Fireworks, 9:30 pm until Saturday, Aug. 27, Luna Park, West 10th St. and the Boardwalk, Coney Island. Also in Coney Island Steeplechase Friday Night Acoustic Music for a weekly performance from a different artist, Steeplechase Beer Garden, 1904 Surf Ave. at W. 17th Street, 5 pm until Sept. 9. Dreamland Roller Disco, roller diva Lola Star hosts a weekly skating dance party for grown-ups, Fridays, 7:30–10 pm until Oct. 14, $6, LeFrak Center at Lakeside,  171 East Dr. at Ocean Avenue.
