Saturday, June 25: Serious Fun Messtival, messy camp day, the highlights are a 100-foot zip line, a dunk tank, paint archery and human tie-dye machine. Family Day, noon to 4 pm, NYC Parks and Councilmember Chaim Deutsch at Coffey Park, DJ, carnival games, Homecrest Playground, E. 12th Street and Shore Parkway. Summer Solstice Party 2016, 6 pm–1 am, $5, the North Brooklyn Boat Club party with food, drinks, bands, North Brooklyn Boat Club, 437 McGuinness Blvd. at Ash Street. Brooklyn Dance Festival opportunities and outreach to professional companies, youth ensembles and emerging artists, 7-9 pm, Betsy Head Park, Dumont Ave. and Strauss Street. The Great Randall’s Island Treasure Hunt, 10 am2 pm, includes two orienteering courses—one for adults and one for children. Learn how to use a map and compass (provided) while exploring the park; enjoy arts and crafts as well as light refreshments.  Treasure for all who participate, Field 62 – 63 in Randall’s Island Park, ferry I believe is near the South Street Seaport.

Sunday, June 26: Mardi Gras is a street fair and festival featuring games, rides and food, noon to 6 pm, Midwood Street Fair, East 13th St. and Ave. M. Smith Street Sunday Funday is an eight-block street fair with the food, art, and crafts, noon to 6 pm, Smith Street between Union and Bergen Streets. New York City Zombie Crawl, 4 pm, the undead gather to party, play games in McCarren Park, and lurch through the streets. Zombie makeovers $10, Bar Matchless, 557 Manhattan Ave. at Driggs Avenue. Only in Queens Summer Festival, 18:30 pm, tour historic buildings, including the New York State Pavilion, Queens Theatre, Queens Museum, and more. Enjoy exhibits and memorabilia from the 1939 and 1964 World’s Fairs, and food and crafts from the Queens International Night Market.
