events this week at Brooklyn College

All events are in the Student Center unless noted and almost all are free.
This week and next there are many club elections and almost all students can run in their area such as CLAS, SGS or GSO. Check the Student Center lobby monitor for clubs such as Desi, GMB, LGBTA in the next 2 weeks and more clubs.
Tuesday: Multiple Sclerosis Forum, 7 to 9 pm, 4th floor, RSVP to alphaphilanthropy@gammabetadelta.orgNew students (freshmen) reception, 3-9 pm, 6th floor. Minority Woman in Medicine, 7-10 pm, 2nd floor. Sex Harassment Workshop, 12-3 pm, with PCB group. Penthouse. Get on the Ball, West Quad event with ZBT 12:15-2 pm.
Environment Protection from NYPIRG, Jefferson Room.  Bible Talk, 1-2 pm, 5th floor. Sala’s Gift: My Mother’s Holocaust Story, 11am-12:15 pm, Woody Tanger Auditorium, Brooklyn College Library. Join Ann Kirschner she discusses her book.  Ann’s mother reveals her mother’s journey during Germany’s occupation. Your Liver. Your Life Workshop, 12:30-2 pm, Maroney-Leddy Room, 4th Floor. Physics Department Colloquium, “What are gravity waves and why are they such a big deal?”, 12:30 -1:30 pm, 3438 Ingersoll Hall. Described will be the recent discovery of gravitational waves at the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory). The colloquium will be designed for non-experts.
 Wednesday: many club elections, most are open to all students based on the group meaning CLAS, SGS or GSO.  Student Center lobby display monitor. Munchies from MS with KPL 5-7 pm, Alumni Room. MFA Intergenre Reading Series with fiction writer Jess Row and poet Monica de la Torre, 6-7:30 pm, 2315 Boylan Hall (Barker Room).
Thursday: Game Jam with Anime, 6-10 pm. Alternative Legal Careers Workshop, 12:15-2:15 pm, 411 Brooklyn College Library. Speakers will include professionals from such areas as government, policy, the nonprofit sector, and legal firms. They will describe their career paths and offer advice on acquiring the skills and experiences you need to pursue and succeed in a legal and nonlegal career. Lunch will be served. Register under the “Career” tab. First Year Thursday: “Time Management”, 12:30-2 pm, Bedford Lounge, 2nd Floor. Free FCY gifts for participating students. Tax Day, accounting careers, hosted by NABA, Senior Tax Director at CohnReznick, a specialist in estate and personal financial planning and looking forward to sharing information on his career path along with valuable insight to the tax industry. Free food, drinks, and prizes be given out, 12:30- 2 pm, 4th floor Alumni Room.
