Physics Department Colloquium, “What are gravity waves and why are they such a big deal?”, 12:30 -1:30 pm, 3438 Ingersoll Hall. Described will be the recent discovery of gravitational waves at the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory). The colloquium will be designed for non-experts.

MFA Intergenre Reading Series with fiction writer Jess Row and poet Monica de la Torre, 6-7:30 pm, 2315 Boylan Hall (Barker Room).
Thursday: Game Jam with Anime, 6-10 pm. Alternative Legal Careers Workshop, 12:15-2:15 pm, 411 Brooklyn College Library. Speakers will include professionals from such areas as government, policy, the nonprofit sector, and legal firms. They will describe their career paths and offer advice on acquiring the skills and experiences you need to pursue and succeed in a legal and nonlegal career. Lunch will be served. Tax Day, accounting careers, hosted by NABA, Senior Tax Director at CohnReznick, a specialist in estate and personal financial planning and looking forward to sharing information on his career path along with valuable insight to the tax industry.
