Friday events, Student Government Speaker Jake Levin profile

All events are in Brooklyn. Brooklyn College women’s and men’s and basketball team will be in the CUNYAC Championship game at 6 and 8 pm at City College. See past postings how to get there. It is also on ESPN 3 live and CUNY TV in a few weeks and WBCR radio but not live.
This year The Vagina Monologues at BC (see Thursday events) is completely student run. From the creative set design, to the production team and all ticket sales will be donated to Sanctuary for Families. Tickets need to be purchased before the show, in The Women’s Center (227 New Ingersoll).  The Freedom Party NYC one of the city’s longest-running Friday night dance parties presents DJs Herbert Holler, Cosi, and Marc Smooth, 11:59 pm, $10, Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave. between N. 11th and N. 12th Streets. Blogologues with comedians Allison Goldberg and Jen Jamula perform the Internet, reciting verbatim the most ridiculous tweets, comments, and Craiglist Missed Connections they can find, 7:30 pm, $12 ($10 in advance), Union Hall, 702 Union St. at Fifth Avenue. Creole Carnival Tour honors the roots of African musical currents focused on the celebration, borrowing from Brazilian, Jamaican, and Haitian ways of honoring Carnival, 8 pm, $20 ($15 in advance), Littlefield, 622 Degraw St. between Fourth and Fifth Avenues.  Student Government Speaker Jake Levin profile
