Soul Summit Music Festival, Choir, Jazzy Jazz Festival, Disability, Dance, Artistry – ADA25 NYC

Soul Summit Music Festival 2015 at Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn this Sunday July 12, 15:00 – 20:00 with DJ Sadiq (Soul Summit), DJ Tabu (Soul Summit), DJ Jeff Mendoza (Soul Summit). “Soul Summit” and “I Love House Music” glow in the dark tee shirts available. Festivities begin at 3pm and go till 8 pm. Medgar Evers College Choir for CUNY students (probably that attend that college). The choir is holding auditions and everyone is invited to come out and see if they have what it takes. The choir repertoire consists of classical, gospel, jazz and spirituals. It is July 9, 7:00 PM, 1650 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, Room: 1003 A. Dr. Mary Umolu Jazzy Jazz Festival will be held on eight Friday evenings in front of the College’s Academic Complex building at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Crown Street.  Seating is on a first come basis. This event is FREE to the public. It will pay tribute to the great pianist Randy Weston, 89 years old, and who has played with Duke Ellington, Max Roach, Eubie Blake, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Lena Horne among countless others.  Scheduled performers currently include Randy Weston African Rhythms; A Touch of Ambience; Firey String Sistas; Pan Sonatas; Brandon Sanders and the Swing Machine; the Medgar Evers Jazz Ensemble; the Vincent Gardner Quintet; and Damon Banks “Travel Guides” with special guest Gwen Laster. It is from July 10, 2015 – August 28, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Disability, Dance, Artistry – ADA25 NYC in partnership with Dance/NYC, CUNY will host a forum and workshops on a powerful contemporary dance form, physically integrated dance.
