Monday: From Staten Island to Ferguson: The Crisis of Police Legitimacy in (Post) Racial America, 2:15 PM – 3:30 PM, Jefferson-Williams Lounge – 4th Floor – Student Center. Effective Communication Workshop, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, 2610 James Hall. The workshop will help you understand why some situations are difficult for you and teach you ways of managing your fears, organizing your thoughts – how to be an Effective Communicator.

Tuesday: General Discussion Series held by the Psychology Club, 12:15 PM – 2:15 PM, Maroney-Leddy Room – 4th Floor – Student Center. In Our Heads About Our Hair, 12:30 PM – 2:15 PM, Women’s Center – 227 Ingersoll Hall Extension. this examines issues Black women confront regarding hair and self-esteem. Despite a current natural-hair trend in some urban areas, many Black women say conforming to mainstream beauty standards makes it easier to find mates and corporate employment. This feature documentary celebrates natural beauty and also offers opinions (and wisdom) from people making other hair styling choices. Secrets of Career Success with Ernst & Young Executive, lunch is provided, 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM, Penthouse, Student Center.
