Probably everything is closed on BC for the holidays. Check each lab for hours. there are many Internet Cafe’s for about $5 an hour. There is one on East 15 St off Kings Highway open usually 12 to 12. Many adjunct teaching classes are being cut. A college wants more of a permanence with full time professors but it will lead to losing prestigious adjuncts and bigger classes. The college will save in their health benefits.
BC Alumni Paul Mazursky, Director and Screenwriter passes. His top movie credits include “Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice” and “Down and Out in Beverly Hills.” He was 84. Mazursky, born Irwin Mazursky in Brooklyn in 1930, died from pulmonary cardiac arrest, according to a spokesperson.
He created the television series “The Monkees.” Mazursky received five Oscar nominations. Entrepeneur, financier and former stand-up comic Nelson Braff has been elected president of the Board of Directors at Tanger Hillel of Brooklyn College. A 1980 alumnus of Brooklyn College, where he earned his B.A. in Economics, Mr. Braff is an attorney with an extensive background in the world of finance. A consummate public speaker, Mr. Braff’s hobby for years was stand-up comedy, where he performed at such high profile comedy clubs as Don’t Tell Mama, The Improv and Caroline’s.
