Mermaid Parade Saturday is like Mardi Gras

The Mermaid Parade is the country’s biggest art parade and most undressed. It is like Mardi Gras with funny costumes, vintage cars and scantily clad costumes of the sea. It all happening at 1 pm at West 21st Street and Surf Avenue and will roll east to West 10th Street and turning onto the boardwalk. You can’t cross surf Avenue for many blocks. Right after it there is a ceremony in the sea and a judging of the costumes, a Masquerade Ball at 6 pm which has a $35 charge at MCU Park at 1904 Surf Ave. At the parade will be King Neptune with be Dante de Blasio and Queen Mermaid will be Chiara de Blasio.
