Saturday: Target First Saturday with many events free at the Brooklyn Museum celebrating women’s empowerment through an evening of spoken word, interactive art, music, film, and dance. 5–11 pm. http://www.brooklynmuseum.org
Daily News Golden Gloves with amateur boxing tournament. 7:30 pm. Xaverian High School, Bay Ridge.
Sunday: Wilderness Survival 1 pm, Salt Marsh Nature Center (in Marine Park), Brooklyn. Nature hunt: Search for field garlic and other edibles in the park with Wildman Steve Brill. Be prepared its a two to four hour walking tour, wear appropriate clothing. Reservations requested. Grand Army Plaza, Union Street between Flatbush Avenue and Prospect Park West (914) 835–2153, 11:45 am, $20 ($10 children).
After the Weekend: Brazil Festival till March 16, The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Ave. (8 Av/19 St), Manhattan.
